The work ethic of most people is phenomenal. I know, and I am sure you know too, some very hard working people who are very successful at their jobs and are highly regarded in their company as movers and shakers. They get things done and you can always count on them. It is a brilliant work ethic which is admired, respected and financially rewarded.
However, these same people at times do not have time to organise their own affairs as they are focused too much on their company´s results. They actually lose out from being too good at work that they miss out on personal opportunities or overlook personal deadlines and receive late fees etc. That doesn´t seem fair – and it isn´t. Treat your affairs like you do your companies, they both will give you financial rewards. You need good organisation and time management but don´t get too caught up in your company´s results that you forget yours.
